What's in a name?

"What's in a name, that which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet." ~William Shakespeare Picking a name for a beloved family pet is easy compared to picking a name for another human being. If you pick wrong for a dog chances are you can change it and the dog will turn out just fine. But picking for a human? If we pick wrong we can't just change it. You're stuck with it for life! That's why we took our time thinking of the perfect name for you Bean. We started with a long list of boys and girls names before we knew your gender. We would say the names back and forth to each other. Try them with middle names, try them with our last name, test run nick names. I promise you, we put a lot of thought in the name you'd be saddled with for the rest of your life. We wanted you to have a name that was all your own. A name just as special and unique as you are. But then your sweetheart of a father told me in front of friends one night that he wanted you to also be named after someone he loved... ME. So you sweet Bean, will get a name that is all your own plus a name that conveys all the love your daddy feels for the both of us now. It makes me tear up thinking about his unexpectedly meaningful gesture. I know you're probably on pins and needles right now wanting to know what we picked.... You'll just have to wait and see like the rest of the family! 😁 Love Mommy

Snuggles

Sweet little miss, I adore our snuggles! You definitely have a knack for making mommy and daddy feel special. When you get fussy all we have to do is pick you up. I'll put you up to my shoulder and you'll put your little arms around my neck and snuggle in. Sometimes it's all you need to fall asleep. Next week on June 4th I go back to work and you'll be spending your days with my sweet friend Sarah and her two little girls. I know you'll be in good hands while I'm working, but a large part of me is so sad to be giving up my days of snuggling you whenever you need it, and breastfeeding you full time. These precious moments have slipped by too fast and I will miss them with all of my being. I have cherished our 2 months of bonding so much! Mommy loves you Babers

Hi baby E, tomorrow you'll be 1 month old! You are such a sweet little thing. Daddy and I are so in love with you! In this short month you've completely stolen our hearts and we can't imagine life without you in it. You love to lay on daddy's chest and pull his beard, and when you're not making him cringe you're gracing him with your adorable smile. You also gave him your first chuckle yesterday. Not quite a laugh yet, but he'll ask you if something is funny and you'll grin and chuckle at him. You really are a doll. You've been working on tummy time and have become quite strong, holding your head up for over 10 seconds at a time. You love to eat and you seem to have hit a growth spurt. You currently weigh 8 pounds and 9 ounces and are 22 inches long! You turn your head when you hear mommy or daddy talk to you, and you love listening to music and dancing around the living room with mommy.
