Baby is a Blue Berry, and Other New Stuff

Image
This week, week 7, little baby you are the size of a blueberry. You have made my sense of smell incredibly strong, and you thought it'd be great fun to cause mommy to gag. At everything. You're funny kid. Seriously though. It started with smelling my own urine. Now I gag Everytime i go potty (yay!) Yesterday it was the toothpaste. When did it get so thick??? And last night? (Sigh) it was the dog food. What's next, grass? Peanut butter? Clothes? I also cry at the weirdest things. Like random commercials and every country song on the radio. Mommy's a hot mess right now. Daddy has been super sweet and understanding. Yesterday he came home with Reece's cake and ginger ale, and did the laundry. You probably don't care to know this, but I find that really sexy. The doing the laundry part 😀 not the cake and pop. Although..... Chat with ya later gator, I need some cake and pop!

15 Years With U-Haul

Today our boss Manny announced my 15 year anniversary with U-Haul! But when he called me up to stand in front of all my co-workers and had Daddy come up too, he whispered to me "So no one knows yet?" Daddy and I whispered back "no, but you can announce it". You'd have thought he was a little kid on Christmas morning the way his face lit up! So he turned to everyone and said that not only did he want to congratulate me on my 15 years, he also wanted to announce with great joy that we are expecting! Everyone clapped and cheered and Manny shook Daddy's hand and I'm pretty sure I just stood there blushing like mad. We had cupcakes and Manny shot a confetti cannon at me and a couple other co-workers. All in all a pretty fun day!

Daddy's Reading A Book!

Image
You don't know this yet, but here it is. Daddy's never been a fan of reading for enjoyment. He just doesn't get into it like I do. I can finish a 400 page book in a day if I have nothing better to do! But today at work daddy's friend Jason brought him a book called "Dude, You're Gonna Be A Dad". Daddy joked that he was going to let me read it and give him a book report, and when he fell asleep on the couch I plucked up the book and skimmed over the first few pages. Oh my goodness baby, the author is hilarious! Daddy's been reading for a good 20 minutes now, laughing under his breath every few pages. I'll have to ask HIM for a book report! On a side note, I haven't vomited since I was 11... The 1st day of 6th grade. I know morning sickness is just a side effect of growing you and all the changes my body is making to accommodate you, but today I gagged for the first time in 25 years. My sense of smell is really sharp today and I smelled.... My ...

Let's not tell anyone....

Let's tell everyone! I wanted to bask in the glow of you, just for a moment, a fraction of time really. Selfish of me I know. But you are my long awaited joy and I just wanted to hold the knowledge of you close to my heart for a blink. Instead, Daddy and I spent all of Friday and today sharing the amazing news that is you with all our closest friends and family. Can you really blame us? We were positively overflowing with joy! We called all your grandma's and grandpa's and Nana's and Papa's and they are already over the moon in love with you. Nana said she knew 2 weeks ago as she was laughing and crying! Our last stop though was a trip to Grandma and Grandpa Paulson's house. So many happy tears around that table! So, the moral of my ramblings little blueberry is that we had to share. We just HAD to. We couldn't keep you to ourselves for even a minute because YOU are a big deal! PS, this week you are the size of a blue berry 💖

Oh Baby!!!

Today! Whew, what a big day. We dreamed of you from the start. We prayed for you and wished for you and waited rather impatiently for you. We thought you'd never come! But today! Oh baby, today. Something told me to check, I was 17 days late and told your daddy on his way out the door for work "think I'm gonna take a pregnancy test today". I had to take 2 because I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the first one! But there it was. Crystal clear. Today you let us know you'd be on your way. Today was full of laughter, love, texting, phone calls, Skyping... Today was an outpouring of support and congratulations. Today was the best day of my life. Because today, I know sweet little one, you are finally mine.
