You're Really Real!!!

Dear Baby, Yesterday daddy and I went to our very first doctor's appointment to find out that even after my scary dream, you really are real! It was the funniest and most beautiful doctor's appointment I've ever had. It started with a pap inspection. Generally these are not the most fun or enjoyable. But because the nurse accidentally unplugged the lamp, the doctor asked daddy to bring over his cell phone and turn on the flashlight! So here I am legs splayed open, paper blanket drapped over my legs and all I can see is the tops of thier heads,so I'm envisioning two miners with mining hats and head lamps peering into a dark tunnel! And let me tell you. I've never laughed so hard at a pap! Next was the ultrasound. Doctor Woods dimmed the lights and turned on the machine. Looked around for a few seconds and then, miracle of miracles, there you were in all your gummy bear shaped glory. You are the most beautiful and precious thing I've ever laid eyes on. And then.... We heard you! The glorious sound of your tiny little heart beating out a tattoo rhythem steady and strong. I'll be honest. I burst into tears with joy and relief. Daddy had the biggest grin on his face. I don't even have the words to tell you how much we already love you little bean. We just want to shout it from the roof tops! We settled for announcing you on Facebook with a fortune cookie and your very first picture. "Baby Schaub, coming April 2017" Papa wants to call you #11 because you'll be his and Nana's 11th grand baby. Nana and aunt Darci want to call you Little Levey (short for little eleven). I just want to call you mine. Love at first sight, Mommy

Snuggles

Sweet little miss, I adore our snuggles! You definitely have a knack for making mommy and daddy feel special. When you get fussy all we have to do is pick you up. I'll put you up to my shoulder and you'll put your little arms around my neck and snuggle in. Sometimes it's all you need to fall asleep. Next week on June 4th I go back to work and you'll be spending your days with my sweet friend Sarah and her two little girls. I know you'll be in good hands while I'm working, but a large part of me is so sad to be giving up my days of snuggling you whenever you need it, and breastfeeding you full time. These precious moments have slipped by too fast and I will miss them with all of my being. I have cherished our 2 months of bonding so much! Mommy loves you Babers

Hi baby E, tomorrow you'll be 1 month old! You are such a sweet little thing. Daddy and I are so in love with you! In this short month you've completely stolen our hearts and we can't imagine life without you in it. You love to lay on daddy's chest and pull his beard, and when you're not making him cringe you're gracing him with your adorable smile. You also gave him your first chuckle yesterday. Not quite a laugh yet, but he'll ask you if something is funny and you'll grin and chuckle at him. You really are a doll. You've been working on tummy time and have become quite strong, holding your head up for over 10 seconds at a time. You love to eat and you seem to have hit a growth spurt. You currently weigh 8 pounds and 9 ounces and are 22 inches long! You turn your head when you hear mommy or daddy talk to you, and you love listening to music and dancing around the living room with mommy.
